At the 2012 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Orlando, Florida, Mazda took a stock Mazda2 and transformed it into a B-Spec race car in just three days, on the show floor.
Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development went to the show with some of the industry’s finest fabricators, parts suppliers, and installers to transform a showroom-stock car into a fully-prepped race car that competed at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill just a week later.
The race car finished 13th in its class at the event and 37th overall out of a field of 69 vehicles that finished the gruelling endurance race. Not too shabby for a race car that got put together in the middle of a convention center in just three days.
