It’s rare to hear of a vehicle more opulent than the million-dollar plus Dartz Prombron, but leave it to the brand to outdo its old status quo.
Aimed squarely at Chinese ultra luxury customers, Dartz just announced the Black Snake – its latest in ludicrously lavish transportation. It’s based on the Mercedes GL 63 AMG and is the brand’s first non-armored vehicle. The 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8’s 557 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque are enough to launch it form 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds.
Pricing is unannounced, but given the brand’s history of selling SUVs above the million-dollar mark it seems likely that the Black Snake will follow suit. So why buy the Benz-based budget buster?
There really isn’t a good reason, but here’s what you get if you’re so inclined. The grille has golden flourishes and the hood is covered in leaf gold made to look like snake scales. Buyers can also choose an optional diamond-crusted hood ornament.
Just like past Dartz products, the interior can be trimmed with a variety of luxury leathers including snake, crocodile belly, ostrich or the legendary whale penis upholstery.
Buyers also get 56 grams of Mottra caviar delivered once a month during the car’s two-year warranty. Strangely enough, Mottra features testimonials on its web site promoting its product as sustainable, ethical and guilt-free.
