Honda S2000 Modulo Climax is a Latecomer: 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon

The Scion FR-S may be dominating the headlines these days, but a decade ago the hottest rear-drive enthusiast car was the Honda S2000.

With little new at Honda when it comes to sports cars these days, the Japanese automaker is looking to keep hope alive amongst its fans by debuting a new custom S2000 model today at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

Out of production for almost four years, the S2000 Modulo Climax features a “cutting-edge aeroform design” that includes a more pointed front bumper with a large chrome protrusion, not to mention a deeply sculpted rear bumper. Other upgrades include chrome wheels and red brake calipers, while inside is a black and burgundy cabin.

Part of Honda’s Modulo in-house accessories department, it’s not clear if Honda actually intends to offer these new parts, or if anyone really wants them.
