Lamborghini has announced a strong 2012 sales year, increasing worldwide deliveries from 1,602 units in 2011 to 2,083 units last year and will celebrate by expanding its motorsport program.
2012 was the third consecutive year of growth for the Italian exotic automaker, despite a tough economy worldwide. This year, Lamborghini can celebrate its continued growth jointly with its 50th anniversary.
In the Aventador’s first full year of sales, the exotic sports car moved 922 units, while the Gallardo continued to be the most successful Lambo ever with 1,161 units delivered in 2012. More than 13,000 Gallardos have been sold since its introduction.
This year, Lamborghini will add the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster to its lineup while the automaker will continue to invest further into Lamborghini Motorsport. This year, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series will run on three continents, entering the USA with a new series.
Also, Lamborghini will compete in the globally established GT3 series worldwide with the Gallardo.
