The 2013 Honda Accord Coupe has been awarded top safety marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), earning a perfect five-star score.
The 2013 Accord Coupe also nabbed the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s highest safety rating, qualifying as a ‘Top Safety Pick Plus.” The Accord is the only car in its class to recieve top marks in every single category tested by the IIHS, including the organizations new small overlap frontal crash test.
NHTSA tests frontal, side-barrier, and side-pole crashes, as well as rollovers, with the Accord Coupe scoring top marks in every test.
Honda uses a reinforced frontal structure to dissipate the energy from collisions safely, among other safety features such as a back-up camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane watch help.
