2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Priced from $29,790

When the redesigned 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee hits dealers, it will do so with a starting price of $29,790 for the rear-wheel drive, V6 model including delivery.

Pricing for the base model represents an $1,100 increase over the 2013 base model. Those who opt for the new diesel engine will pay at least $41,290, which gets you an oil burning rear-wheel drive model.

The Grand Cherokee will be offered in four trims, listed from cheapest to most expensive: Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit. Only Limited, Overland and Summit trimmed Grand Cherokees will offer the diesel engine, with all-wheel drive available as a $2,000 option on Laredo and Limited, and a $3,000 option on Overland and Summit trims.

The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, while a V8 is also available, putting out 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. The newest addition to lineup is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel that produces 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. All of the engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The base $27, 790 rear-drive Laredo model will include 17-inch wheels, paddle shifters, a five-inch touchscreen and a seven-inch customizable instrument cluster display. Jump up to the $36,790 Limited rear-wheel drive gas-powered model, and buyers will get chrome trim, HID headlights, 18-inch wheels, rear USB charging ports, heated front and rear seats along with remote start.

The second-from-the-top Overland trimmed Grand Cherokee comes in at $43,990 with a rear-drive V6 setup, and gets a power liftgate, HID headlights with LED daytime running lights, panoramic sunroof, a full-size spare tire, wooden interior accents, a 506-watt nine-speaker sound system, and an 8.4-inch touch-screen display among other upgrades.

Finally, the top trim Summit models start at $54,185, which includes all-wheel drive and a V8, and are fitted with features like 20-inch wheels, an 825-watt 19-speaker sound system, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert, and front park assist.
