2015 Mercedes S-Class Coupe Spied up Close

2015 Mercedes S-Class Coupe Spied up Close

Mercedes is busy testing a new two-door variant of the S-Class, and our spy photographers managed to grab some shots of the prototype testing.

The Coupe gets a wide muscular look thanks to flared rear fenders, a sculpted hood and a flat front end. This new set of photos shows the camo-clad nose up close, which will get LED lighting, and low-front air dams.

Under the hood, the Coupe is expected to stay similar to the current S-Class, offering a base S550 model using a twin-turbo 4.6L V8 making over 400 hp. Both S63 and S65 AMG variants are expected as well. There has also been talks of eliminating the E550 model in favor of a small turbo V6 powered E400 model, a move which could carry over to the S-Class.

The new S-Class Coupe is not likely to be introduced until after the sedan model, which is expected at the Frankfurt Motor Show next Fall. That means that the two-door S-Class may not arrive until the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
