French automaker Citroen might not make money (in fact it lost $6.7 billion last year) but it sure can make a mean diorama.

To celebrate an unprecedented nine FIA World Rally Championship titles, the French automaker has unveiled a nine-part diorama in 1:43 scale, mounted on top of a Citroen DS3. The press release may sound like it was ripped from the pages of The Onion, but it’s obvious that in France, you don’t joke about dioramas.

The scene, designed and built by Kieron Barter of Funky Lemon Design took two months to complete and mashes together numerous historic rally circuits, one from each of the nine years, with historic rally cars in locations like the snowy Rally Finland to the Acropolis Rally.

On display at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the diorama will go on tour across the Citroen dealerships in France throughout the year.

Ridiculous? Yes. But it’s also surprisingly amazing. Take a close look at some of the impressive details in the gallery below.
