Jeep’s new Fiat-based small crossover set to replace the Liberty will likely debut in March during the New York Auto Show.

A Chrysler spokesman wouldn’t confirm that reports of the car coming to the show were true, but he didn’t deny it either. Regardless, the crossover will ride on Fiat’s Compact Wide platform, which is the same platform used in the Dodge Dart.

The yet-unnamed small Jeep will likely be powered by a smaller version of the Chrysler Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 currently powering the Wrangler. Four-wheel drive is also a no-brainer both because this is a Jeep and because the platform is capable of it.

The New York show isn’t until April, so there’s plenty of time for more information to trickle out.

Please dont badge cars as Jeep if they are not really the off road original style of Jeep!
They have had the right chemistry since their inception so dont lose the plot people. :)
