Nissan will announce details on February 26 surrounding its Nismo performance arm.
The announcement will detail a new direction for the motorsports performance division when Nissan opens a new factory for the branch on the same day outside Yokohama, Japan. That facility will offer more space, a larger showroom capable of displaying up to eight cars and a retail outlet.
Given the investment in the brand, it seems likely that Nismo will become a more important part of Nissan’s lineup, more in line with the BMW M Division or Mercedes’ AMG.
Official word won’t be available until next week, but Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn will headline the announcement when news for the company’s motorsports future is also expected.
