5. Kia Forte – 35.9 Inches

Topping the Cruze/Impreza twins by a full half-inch is the Kia Forte. Rear-seat riders are treated to nearly three feet of maximum legroom.

At 106.3 inches this Kia rides on the second-longest wheelbase in this Top 10. Curiously two other cars span the exact same distance: the Hyundai Elantra and Nissan Sentra. In most other measures the Forte finishes mid-pack, just call it Goldilocks.

Nice to see this compiled, I’ve been curious about this for a while.  However, there are a host of other factors that affect real-world rear seat room, as I’m sure you all know.  The number next to “legroom” doesn’t mean everything.

get your facts straight.  Small Pox is not wiped out

I will argue this one any time. My versa has way more space In the back seat than my parents corolla. The corolla I can’t even lift my foot with out turning it. The versa I can put a rear facing convertible car seat in the middle and still lay both front seats all the way down.

I just bought a new Sentra, but of all the compact cars I looked at, the Versa had, by far, the most rear leg room! It didn’t even make the list??? How?

  • ColumWood

Good question. Technically the Versa is a sub-compact. And yes, it has the most rear seat leg room for a sub-compact.

I love my versa note. I’m 6′ 2″ and I fit in the back seat.
