If there’s one sing of an excellent handling front-drive car, it’s the ability to rotate the rear end. The upcoming 2014 Fiesta ST can do just that, as Ford proves in a new video showcasing the hot hatch.
Driven in haste around the automaker’s Lommel Proving Grounds in Belgium, the short clip shows the potent sub-compact sliding its rear axle around and even getting up on just three wheels. The car in question is a 3-door hatch, which is two fewer than the model that will be offered in North America.

Our car will, however, sill come powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder making 197 hp and 214 lb-ft of torque. While it does boast advanced handling goodies like the torque vectoring control system seen on the Focus ST, it does not share that car’s torque steer mitigation feature, meaning it’s bound to be a twitchier ride and likely a more raw experience.
Set to go on sale later this year, the Fiesta ST will cost $22,195 including destination.
