To celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of its most significant vehicles, the Mustang, Ford has revealed a special commemorative logo and a marketing campaign that will see merchandise sold from over 50 different companies.
The merchandise will include jackets, shirts, watches, and even pinball machines, all of which will be branded with the new logo.
A design contest put on by Ford chief creative officer J Mays resulted in the new logo, which was won by designer Michael Thompson. Typically, the logo features the famous galloping pony which has been seen on the Mustang since it was first introduced.
Ford will be celebrating all year long, with festivities starting at the upcoming 2013 New York Auto Show. The Mustang’s official 50th birthday is on April 17, 2014, as the original Mustang was unveiled at the 1964 New York World’s Fair.
