Jeep-Wrangler-Stitch-Concept

With weight savings as the priority, Jeep has unveiled the Wrangler Stitch Concept at the 2013 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab.

The Wrangler Stitch Concept has a curb weight of about 3,000 lbs, giving it a similar power-to-weight ratio as the Grand Cherokeoo SRT8. To shave off the pounds, the audio system, heating and air conditioning, rear seats, doors, and sections of the body were all removed from the Wrangler Stitch. The Stitch sits on 35-inch off-road tires and 17-inch aluminum wheels, and is fitted with a chrome moly roll cage.

that’s what I’ve been waiting for. unless it enhances performance and handling leave it off. when can I order one ?

  • Duanecounter

Sweet ride.  I have a 77 CJ7 that looks very similar, but has all of the old school leaf spring suspension. I love to spend a day crawling off-road with the Stitch.

  • MakeMyOwnRoad

What’s screwed up about it, the article didn’t say this is your grand-pa’s on road everyday commuter. This thing is built for serious off-roader’s who are taking the lighter is better attitude. There are still plenty of Jeeps out there for those of you who prefer to keep it on the road (god only knows why you would buy a Jeep for that).

  • Ifelovr

    Ok. How much???

  • Bckarpman

I have an 06 LJ rubicon the last of the real Jeeps, and after I get my Metalcloak fender flares it will be similar but better ,cause they sissyfied them after 06, they need to go back in time a bit

  • Bckarpman

If they want to improve ,how about diesel ?

  • Okma1971ka

My ’04 TJ tips the scale at 4,250. I would like to get it to anywhere near 3,000

  • CraigB

I think they would do better chasing a stronger engine because everyone will want a radio and at least a heater…

What a great concept vehicle.  This thing screams with the stock 3.6.  It’s way too impractible for everyday driving but it shows how weight really effects these things.  I love the way you can see right through the body at night when a light is inside the vehicle.

  • forrest

in one word “awesome”…..i will get one!!
