No, that’s not a typo. Fast and the Furious 6 hasn’t even hit the big screen yet and the seventh installment in the series already has a release date: July 11, 2014.

Fast and Furious 6 will be in theaters May 24, and Universal confirmed at CinemaCon that the next movie will be the biggest one of them all. James Wan will be director of the seventh movie with Neal Moritz and Vin Diesel returning as producers.

Sounds like the sixth movie is going to end with a major cliffhanger to build up anticipation for the seventh – especially since the next one is just over a year away.

At this point, it’s not so much a film franchise as an employment program.

The 6th didnt have a cliffhanger.
This is a fake release date.

there is a cliffhanger in the sixth movie because they end up back at the Toretto house after the end credits. I think that it will be nice to go back to Tokyo and all the main actors are going to be in this one. I was really disappointed with Tokyo Drift because only a few of the original chacters were in it. This is going to be one of the must sees for me for summer 2014. I really enjoy these movies and am happy that they are not going to leave us gussing on what happened with the chacters in the series.I do not think that they are over doing the movies because a lot of the major chacters are still alive.
