Shelby Performance Parts has introduced some new race-inspired upgrades for a variety of different Ford Mustang models, ranging from the base car to the Shelby GT500.
In the interest of improving horsepower and fuel economy, Shelby is introducing a new Borla stainless steel cat-back X-pipe exhaust setup made to fit on 2006 to 2009 Mustang GTs, as well as the 2007 to 2009 GT500. It features straight through, multi-core technology, and a three-inch pipe diameter.
New 14-inch Brembo front rotors are also part of the new gear, and can be fit to 2005-2012 GT500s or Mustangs equipped with Brembo calipers, including Ford’s 2012 and 2013 Boss 302. The rotors feature a curved vein, directional drilling and zinc coated surfaces, and can be fitted to a Mustang without the need to bleed the brakes.
“We designed our newest products for easy home installation and to deliver a significant boost in performance. Each component undergoes intense testing before it can wear the Shelby brand,” said Shelby Performance Parts vice president Jer Gervasi.
A new Shelby harness bar will add peace of mind for drivers who take their Mustangs to the track, and can be fitted to 2005 through 2014 Mustangs. Once installed, the harness bar will allow for a number of different racing harnesses to be attached to it.
Finally, Shelby is offering some new apparel, including a racing jacket and helmet, both of which are finished with the Shelby logo.
