The next-generation Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont crossovers will be built in Chrysler’s Sterling Heights plant alongside the next-generation Chrysler 200 sedan.

Since all three vehicles will be built on a common platform that the American automaker shares with Fiat’s Alfa Romeo Giulietta, it simply made sense to move production from Toluca, Mexico where the current Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont are produced. Meanwhile, production of the Dodge Avenger will cease at Sterling Heights.

According to Chrysler, a redesigned 200 will go on sale next year while production on the next-generation Journey and Freemont will begin in January 2016.
