Toyota’s CEO loves racing, and this year he will compete once again at one of the most grueling 24 hour races in the world, 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
Akio Toyoda has previously competed in the race, in both 2007 and 2009, though at that time he was still only the VP of Toyota, and not the head of the company as he is now.
Back in 2009, Toyoda was part of a team of four drivers that finished 87th our of a field of about 170 cars. That team piloted a Lexus LFA in the race, though this year the car that Toyoda and his team will use is still unknown. While the LFA is still a contender, the team may run a GT86 as it is the brand’s newest, hottest sports car.
