Set to debut later today, full details and a large selection of photos of the all-new 2014 Mazda 3 have leaked online.
Growing in size, with a new look and based on an all new platform the 2014 Mazda3 also gains new powertrains, from tiny 1.5-liter to a larger 2.5-liter SkyActiv motors.
The new hatchback model is roughly1.6-inches wider with a wheelbase that’s been stretched by 2.5-inches for added interior room. The car itself, however, is shorter overall by about two inches.

As for engines, a base 1.5-liter Skyactiv engine will be added making just 100 hp, though don’t expect that option for North America. Instead, the 3 should start with a new version of the current 2.0-liter Skyactiv engine with a slight power bump to 155 hp an 150 b-ft of torque. Those looking for speed (but not quite Mazdaspeed) will be able to get the Mazda6’s 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine making 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. In addition, a diesel engine will be offered, though it isn’t yet clear if that will be available in North America.
Also of note, the 2014 Mazda3 will be available with the brand’s new i-ELOOP regenerative braking system to help maximize fuel economy.
Cargo room is rated at 12.3 cu-ft and expands to 44 cut-ft with the rear seats folded flat.
Look for even more details and photos when the car is officially revealed at 2:30 EDT.
