At a recent investor’s meeting, General Motors revealed that the next-generation Cadillac Escalade will hit the market in spring of 2014.
Cadillac has said that the new Escalade will stay true to its current form, putting power and presence as a priority over fuel economy, though the mpg numbers will almost certainly get better compared to the current Escalade. The SUV is expected to carry on its boxy look, favoring imposing style over a swoopy aerodynamic shape. It will also receive a version of the the long thin headlights that can be seen on many new Cadillac models including the 2014 CTS.
Cadillac’s new full-size SUV will be based off of the updated Chevy Silverado platform, and is a likely candidate to receive both the 5.3-liter V8 and 6.3-liter V8. An eight-speed transmission is also a likely companion for those engines.
The 2015 Escalade will make its public debut this fall, and hit the market sometime in spring 2014.
