2015 Ford Mustang Details Surface

Ford is currently testing its prototype of the 2015 Mustang and some details are surfacing for the next-generation sports car.

Under the hood, the 2015 Ford Mustang will come with a base model V6 engine while a 2.3-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder will be available as a step up with around 350 hp. On the high end, the 2015 Mustang will be powered by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and will be making around 450 hp, similar to the current Boss 302 offering. And the 2015 Ford Mustang will be sporting an independent rear.

As for rumors, the Ford Mustang SVT model might drop its Shelby name and its forced induction. That could mean a naturally-aspirated V8 and Ford reviving the Cobra moniker.

Expect a glimpse of the 2015 Ford Mustang before the end of this year.

God I hope it doesn’t have that lame rear quarter in the rendition.

This is a horrible image that looks nothing like the disguise photos, not even remotely close. The front end is not sloped like a Gallardo as shown here, it has a much more subtle sloped hood and Taurus-like front. On the sides, the door panel goes clear down to the side skirts while indents are found on either side.

Gotta give it to Ford for keeping this much uncertainty at this stage. I wonder how much is purposeful and how much is actual design debate within Ford.

Don’t like the way it looks AT ALL. Come on Ford.

  • wcgman

That picture is speculation. Nobody outside of Ford has seen the car except in heavily camo’d materials.

Looks like the fusion designer got a hold of the front end. Just like the rear of the new stingray looks like a camaro

  • huwtm

No one in their right mind would. It’s not the way it’s going to look. If you look at the clays it will give you a pretty good idea. (nothing like that maroon thing)

i hope they bring the gt40 back with the gt500 motor:)

You can tell its not a Ford picture, because Ford wouldnt put an ugly Ford symbol in the middle of the hood. Their learned their lesson in the 80’s, about putting Ford symbols on the stang instead of the horse.

This thing looks like crappe! I own a Shelby GT500-09 and dropping the Shelby name would be a disaster for Ford. certainly hope FORD HAS BETTER sense than that.

I would rather see Ford turn the Mustang into a world class sports car instead of staying with retro theme. They can keep some traditional Mustang styling cues and still build an attractive vehicle that Mustang buyers will want. If they put a Mustang on the street that is lighter and more powerful and can run circles around it’s competitors, there will be plenty of buyers, including me. It’s time to move the Mustang into the 21st century. That being said, I just hope Ford does it right and we don’t have another Mustang II/Probe/New Thunderbird debacle.

Nice to see Hyundai’s Genesis Coupe with the Ford logo on it…….hahahaha

Hope to heck that they’re not serious about this design

  • i p standing

    ford never learns

This is what I think of it!

If this is for real it will be Ford’s “Edsel” … can you say… Rice Rocket??

The front and sides aren’t horrible but the puffed out rear end reminds me of a song by Queen,Fat Bottom Girls. Everyone thought the aero styling of the 80s that Ford took on was too radical and wouldn’t sell..Remember the Taurus,Sable,Thunderbird, and Cougar? Not only did they sell exceptionally well, they were the very cars that initiated the rounded styling of the cars we have today. It may just be a big big hit.

That isn’t the car you see at the top..This one is and I kind of like it.
