In a tribute to the famous Sport Quattro coupe, Audi might be building a production version based on the concept seen in 2010.
Reports suggest the car will be coming in 2014, which would mark the 30th anniversary of the original 1984 Sport Quattro. Rumor has it that Audi will fit the car with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine to offer 408 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. There could also be a 4.0-liter V8 shoehorned under the hood for 650 hp and a sprint to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.
According to the reports, Audi will use carbon fiber reinforced plastic, aluminum and magnesium in the car to offer a curb weight around 2,886 lbs.
It isn’t clear if the car will be sold in the U.S., but pricing is said to come in at around €115,000, which converts to about $153,000.
