The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened a probe on 2007-2008 model year Honda Odyssey minivans for a possible brake issue.

The probe affects nearly 344,000 Odyssey vans after NHTSA received 22 complaints from owners about unexpected braking. According to those complaints, the Odyssey is braking without the driver pressing the pedal. In some instances, the brakes were engaged while the driver was accelerating and five people have told NHTSA that dealerships have found an issue in a steering angle sensor in the electronic stability control system.

NHTSA has said that it isn’t aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue, and that investigators will determine if a recall is necessary.
