A picture taken from the pages of a Japanese magazine might have prematurely revealed the new Mazda3 hatchback.
The new hatchback will run on Mazda’s SkyActiv platform with the company’s KODO “soul of motion” design language first seen on the CX-5 small crossover. While Mazda hasn’t officially announced when it will begin delivering the new compact car, past reports suggest some dealers expect to start receiving them late this year.
Mazda is aiming to increase its sales beyond 300,000 units per year in North America for 2013. Given that the Mazda3 is its top seller, offering it this year could make sense.
