A New York bill that could have essentially put Tesla out of business in the state has been stopped.

Musk took to Twitter to announce the news, expressing his thanks to all those that helped shut down the bill. According to the CEO, the “kill Tesla bill in NY was stopped in the 11th hour due to public outcry.”

The American electric automaker has been enjoying success in the past year, but has been fighting an uphill battle with auto dealers as it continues to sell its vehicles directly to the public. State by state, Tesla is facing lawsuits from those dealers in hopes that the company will be forced to use intermediaries to sell its vehicles. The American automaker has expressed time and time again that it is in no position to sell through intermediaries and has no intentions to in the near future.
