Nissan has released information regarding all of the changes that are set to arrive for the 2014 model year across its entire lineup, most of which consist of new packaging options.
Coming to Nissan’s best seller, the Altima, is some packaging changes and the axing of the coupe version of the car. There is a new sport value package that adds 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, remote engine start, and a trunk lid spoiler. The navigation package is now replaced by the technology package on 2.5 SV and 3.5 SV, which includes Nissan connect, navigation, apps smartphone integration, blind spot warning, moving object detection and lane departure warning.
Additionally, rear passenger air vents have been added to the convenience package, and the gun metallic exterior color replaces the previously available metallic slate. Base Altimas still use a CVT mated to a 182 hp 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine, while buyers can choose to upgrade to a 270 hp 3.5-liter V6.
Next up is Nissan’s EV, the Leaf. All Leaf vehicles now feature a rear view camera as standard equipment, and updated functionality with voice destination entry and SMS readout.
Nissan’s large sedan, the Maxima, gets some packaging changes for 2014. First is the new S value package which includes smoked appearance headlights, HID Xenon headlights, compass in rearview mirror, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, rear spoiler, fog lights, outside mirrors with integrated turn signals and metallic trim treatment. Two new colors are now available, gun metallic and midnight garnet, and a backup camera, USB connectivity and 7.0-inch color monitor has been added to the top trim Maxima as standard equipment.
The 2014 Nissan Sentra gets more than just package changes, gaining new CVT, suspension and steering tuning.
The top-trim 2014 Nissan Versa gets new standard 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a 4.3-inch LCD audio display and SiriusXM. Suspension and steering also received new tuning for 2014.
Some changes are coming to Nissan’s sports cars as well, with the 370Z NISMO receiving new dark grey front and rear fascias, lower side sills, and NISMO rear spoiler. A new shade of red is now available for the car, which also gets an alcantara steering wheel and red NISMO tachometer.
Moving into bigger vehicles, the Nissan Pathfinder gets some packaging changes with the availability of a new SL Tech Package. It features a 13-speaker audio system, navigation with voice recognition, XM NavTraffic and NavWeather capability, Zagat restaurant survey, bluetooth streaming audio and 8.0-inch color touchscreen monitor.
Lastly, Nissan’s small truck gets some changes too. The Frontier is now available with heated front seats with the SV VTP package, it gets a standard manual slide rear window, and the updated Nissan connect infotainment setup.
