Bernie Ecclestone Indicted on Bribery Charges

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has been indicted in Germany on allegations of bribery.

Often at the center of attention for various reasons, Ecclestone will now have the spotlight for his role in the sale of Formula 1 to CVC in 2005 in the wake of the sentencing of German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky, who is heading off to prison for eight and a half years for corruption. Ecclestone admitted to making payments to Gibkowsky, but stated that he being blackmailed.

Ecclestone, of course, is maintaining that he’s innocent and that he did “nothing illegal.” His legal team will be submitting a response to the Munich court in the next few weeks, at which point the court will decide whether or not to pursue the case.
