After teasing that a special GT86 model would be heading to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Toyota has revealed that it is indeed the TRD Griffon GT86 that made its debut earlier this year at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
Developed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD), the Griffon GT86 has arrived in the UK from Japan for the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed and the track-spec racer will surely garner plenty of attention at the event. It appears that the Griffon GT86 remains mostly unchanged from when it made an appearance at the Tokyo Auto Salon, though TRD did scrap the Volk Racing TE-37s for a new set of wheels.

The ultra-lightweight GT86 uses plenty of composite materials to give it a monster power-to-weight ratio that made it faster than a Ferrari 458 at the Tsukuba Circuit in Japan. The TRD Griffon GT86 will be on display from July 12 to July 14 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and then at the Oulton Park Circuit on July 21 at a special invite-only GT86 track day.
