There are seven Chevrolet vehicles that scored a five-star overall safety rating in NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program testing.
That’s enough to give Chevrolet bragging rights as the brand with the most 2014 model year vehicles with NHTSA five-star safety ratings. The list includes the Sonic, Cruze, Volt, Impala, Traverse, Camaro coupe and Silverado 1500 crew cab.
General Motors also pointed out that its Sonic is the first and only product in the sub-compact class to achieve a such a rating in NCAP testing. The Camaro also beat the Ford Mustang, which achieved a four-star rating.
It’s also worth noting that there are quite a few vehicles that NHTSA hasn’t rated from the 2014 model year and that some won’t be rated at all.
