The Volvo Concept Coupe was first revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and thanks to its positive reception, the Swedish brand is now considering sending the vehicle into production.
According to Autobild, Volvo is now considering sending a small run of these vehicles into the assembly plant. The Concept Coupe’s purpose was to reveal the style language that Volvo will use on its upcoming products, but the resounding positive feedback has caused Volvo to think seriously about building it.
If it does happen, it will not be until the new XC90 SUV, the S90 sedan, and the V90 station wagon launches are all out of the way. All of those vehicles will be built on Volvo’s new scalable platform and will feature turbocharged four-cylinder engines. If the Concept Coupe becomes reality, it too will ride on Volvo’s new architecture.
