Ask the Engineer: Do You Have a Question About the 2014 Toyota Tundra?

Is there something you want to now about the all-new 2014 Toyota Tundra? Then you’ve come to the right place.

In partnership with our Toyota Tundra forum,, we’re gathering questions about the new Tundra for a Q&A session with the truck’s chief engineer Mike Sweers.

AutoGuide Editorial Director Colum Wood will host a video interview with Mike at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas on November 6th. For a chance to have your questions answered, submit them in the comments section below by October 31st.

The video will be edited shortly after SEMA and we’ll be sure to share the finished product with answers to your important questions.

How about: Why don’t you sell more than one rear end? The lack of ways you can build the Tundra is killing it for me.

I bet a Toyota engineer would know more about how much Ford/GM/Ram are inflating their towing numbers over SAE regulation. How much different would they be if they all followed the same standard as Toyota?

Was there ever a plan to work on new engines? Maybe these did change a bit, and heck there could be rumors that I haven’t heard, but it was a little surprising that the same engines were used even with a new truck.

    Just some ideas, Colum!

Will changing the exhaust on my 2104 Tundra limited to a Borla’s stainless steel cat-back exhaust systems void
    my warranty?

To be honest I hate the new tundra’s look. Looks like the tundra is trying to be like the other trucks with a wide grille.

Is this the new freight liner or pete trucks.them you would have to gi over the road in order to make payments on this trucks.

I own 3 Tundra pickups but I will not buy a 14 model. Toyota should not have changed body style. They took hand handle from drivers side (second mistake) and change middle console (third mistake). Not sure why they made these changes.
