Elon to Spritz Electric Musk on a Former Bond Car

Billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk seems to think he can build a better car than Q…

Although he hasn’t been quoted saying as much, it wouldn’t seem out of character with his typically off-the-cuff commentary for Musk to opine his capacity to outbuild James Bond’s fictional car fabrication genius. What’s more, Musk bought the Lotus submarine car at auction for nearly one million dollars ad plans to transform it into an actual car that turns into a submarine.

“I was disappointed to learn that it can’t actually transform,” Musk said in a statement provided by Telsa to CNN Money. “What I’m going to do is upgrade it with a Tesla electric powertrain and try to make it transform for real.”

Musk paid $920,167 for the submarine, which was one of several cars used to film the scene in “The Spy Who Loved Me” where Bond drives the car off a pier.
