NASCAR driver Kurt Busch will get a little Ricky Bobby hustle this weekend at the Talladega Motor Speedway.
His car will feature Wonder Bread as the primary sponsor and is inspired by the No. 26 Wonder Bread car from Will Ferrell’s 2006 “Talladega Nights” comedy. The sponsorship is part of a re-introduction of the Wonder brand after it disappeared from the market late last year.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Kurt Busch and the Furniture Row Racing team to debut the Wonder car at the Talladega Superspeedway. Having such an incredible driver wear the bright colors of Wonder will make for a truly memorable all-American race experience.” said Keith Aldredge, Flowers Foods’ vice president of marketing.
In the movie, John C. Reilly drove an Old Spice sponsored car on the same team as Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell). Unfortunately, Old Spice is among a handful of brands that dropped their NASCAR sponsorships before the 2013 season.
