The Mercedes-Benz CLA will get a Shooting Brake variant, but it won’t be heading to North America.
It has been long rumored for a couple of years now that the CLA’s front-wheel architecture would spawn an SLA roadster, but the German automaker will instead follow in the footsteps of its CLS model by giving the CLA a Shooting Brake model.
Unfortunately, since Shooting Brake models are perceived as wagons in North America, Mercedes has no plans on bringing the CLA Shooting Brake to the U.S. The recent news that an S-Class Convertible is on the way means that Mercedes has opted to invest into a higher-end roadster that will deliver far more profit, rather than an SLA baby roadster.
