Based on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) vehicle theft records from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2012 and limited to 2010-2012 model year vehicles, 1,509 Chevrolet Camaros were stolen in North America. The Mustang was second with 980 thefts while the Challenger was third with 782 thefts. All three of those vehicles are classified in the mid-sized “sporty” class.
The rest of the list sees a significant drop off in number of thefts, with the Porsche Panamera in fourth place with 103 stolen. Another luxury car comes in fifth, with the Audi A5 and S5 seeing 101 thefts. Finishing off the rest of the top 10 is the Chevrolet Corvette (69), Nissan 370Z (47), BMW 6 Series (45), Porsche 911 (24) and Volkswagen Eos (23).
