Toyota Latest Automaker to Offer Deferred Payments for Federal Employees

Toyota is the latest automaker to offer payment relief options to its customers affected by the government shutdown.

The Japanese automaker joins Hyundai and Nissan, both of which previously announced programs to defer payments for federal employees that are financially burdened.

Hyundai Car Payments Deferred for Federal Employees

Toyota’s program will offer payment relief options to both Toyota Financial Services and Lexus Financial Services customers, and accounts in good standing may be eligible to defer up to three months of payments. Those affected can contact Toyota or Lexus Financial Services to discuss options available to them.

Nissan Defers Vehicle Payment for Federal Employees

“The government shutdown has placed an unanticipated financial strain on many individuals and families,” said Al Smith, Toyota Financial Services Group Vice President of Service Operations. “Toyota Financial Services and Lexus Financial Services remain committed to making the lives of our customers easier, so we are pleased to be able to provide some flexibility to our customers affected by this situation.”
