If the buzz around Subaru’s WRX concept first seen in New York earlier this year is any indication, the next WRX is in position to be a big hit.
There isn’t long to wait, either. Subaru just released a teaser image of the front end, revealing that much of the concept’s design elements will remain intact for series production. A gaping hood scoop, muscular lines and the clearly-defined grille will all make it through to copies you can look forward to seeing on the road soon.
Of course, the headlights were toned down from the concept version. Specific details about the car are still being kept under lock and key, but you can expect the car to feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter boxer engine powering all four wheels. With any luck, Subaru will see fit to offering a manual transmission. Rumor has it that the hatchback version will be cut for 2015, but the company hasn’t confirmed that yet.
