Now that the 2013 SEMA Show has come and gone, the association has released some telling statistics about the automotive aftermarket industry.
According to the SEMA Annual Market Report, last year the industry raked in $31.32 billion in retail sales, an impressive increase from the less than $28 billion reported in 2009, during the height of the recession. Final attendance was also highest in SEMA Show history with over 126,000 credentials issued prior to the event with thousands more processed at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Final attendance figures are still being audited, but based off what they know, attendance is at least seven percent higher than last year. In addition, there were a total a 2,381 exhibiting companies on the show floor last week with those exhibitors connecting with over 60,000 buyers from around the world. Over 2,000 entries were submitted into this year’s SEMA New Products Showcase.
