Bugatti unveiled its third ‘Legend’ edition car at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. Like the last legend edition models, this vehicle commemorates an important figure in Bugatti history, Bartolomeo “Meo” Costantini in this case.
Costantini is known for racing Bugattis in the 1920s, capturing two Targa Florio wins in a Bugatti Type 35. Costantini also managed the brands racing team in the 1930s.
This limited edition Bugatti costs more than $2.8 million US, and features exposed, polished aluminum trim and a French Racing Blue paint scheme on the carbon fiber panels. Further celebrating Costantini, a map of Targa Florio is painted on the underside of the rear wing and is etched between the seats. Costantini’s signature is also etched into the fuel cap and is embroidered into the vehicles headrests.
Take a close look at the leather panels on the doors, where the world of motorsports during the 1920s comes to life with elaborate laser engravings.
Only three examples of this expensive hypercar will be made, and Costantini’s special edition vehicle is just the third of six Legend edition Veyrons. See the full gallery below.
