Mercedes-Benz is pushing the boundaries with its latest model, the CLA, by offering a luxury car for as little as $30,000, and that car’s low price and good looks attracted the most attention on AutoGuide this past week.
The CLA 250 is powered by a 2.0 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, paired exclusively with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
Next up on the list is some forbidden Australian fruit, the 2013 Holden Commodore Ute. The Ute is based off the Commodore sedan platform, which was sold briefly in the US as the Pontiac G8, though there is currently no equivalent to the Ute here in North America.
Third up this week is a comparison of some entry-level luxury hybrids as the 2013 Lexus CT200h takes on the 2013 Acura ILX Hybrid. The Lexus offers a more premium interior and a great looking exterior package, but the Acura offers better value. So which one makes for a better purchase? Read the comparison to find out.
The 2013 Tesla Model S makes the list again this week. The Model S offers a range of 265 miles with the 85 kWh battery, the longest distance available in any electric car on sale today.
Lastly, we have the newest variant from Italy, the Fiat 500L. A 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine makes 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, while fuel consumption is rated at 24 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.
