As chosen by you, AutoGuide.com has tabulated the results of the second annual Reader’s Choice Car of the Year awards with General Motors taking a resounding five out of seven awards and the new Corvette Stingray taking top honors as the Reader’s Choice Car of the Year.
“Polling AutoGuide.com readers, as well as the over 30 million members on the over 400 automotive forums that make up the AutoGuide.com forum network, the Reader’s Choice Awards are about letting consumers pick their favorite new vehicles,” said AutoGuide.com Editorial Director Colum Wood. “By surveying car shoppers as well as the enthusiasts on our extensive community of forums, we’re able to take the pulse of what vehicles really resonate in the marketplace.”
Chevrolet’s new Corvette took home the big prize in the overall Reader’s Choice Car of the Year category, as well as the top honors in the best sports car category though it wasn’t the only Chevy to win. The new 2014 Silverado 1500 also took home the award for the Reader’s Choice Truck of the Year.
As a whole, General Motors won five of the seven awards, with Cadillac models grabbing two awards: the CTS for Reader’s Choice Luxury Car of the Year and the ELR for the Reader’s Choice Green Car of the Year.
The final awards went to Jeep and Land Rover with the new 2014 Cherokee taking the Reader’s Choice Crossover of the Year, while the Range Rover Sport was picked overall in the category for the Reader’s Choice Luxury SUV/Crossover of the Year.
