North American Car of the Year Finalists Announced

The top three finalists for both the 2014 North American Car and Utility Vehicle of the Year have been released, with the winner set to be announced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Two vehicles from GM, the Cadillac CTS and Chevy Corvette Stingray made the top three in the car category, and will compete against the new compact Mazda3 for top honors.

In the utility vehicle category the Chevy Silverado, Acura MDX and Jeep Cherokee are set to do battle.

For a vehicle to be considered for the awards, it must be “substantially changed from the previous model and must go on sale shortly after the announcement of the award.” Choosing the winner is a panel made up of 48 automotive journalists from across North America.

The C7 is hands down the best car for 2014. The mfg process alone is extraordinary. In addition there is not a car in any category priced like the new C7 at a mere $52k including destination. You get a vehicle completely redesigned that can be a immediate drag or track car and then drive on the highway getting 29 mpg. Add a dealer installed supercharger for $10k with headers included and you have a 600 hp beast.
