The all new 2015 Subaru WRX was given the most attention this past week on AutoGuide.
Using a new, smaller, 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, the WRX will go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds with the new 6-speed manual transmission.
Next up is a purpose built off-roader, the Toyota 4Runner. The 4Runner can now only be had with 4.0-liter V6 good for 270 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. It is one of the few SUVs on the market that is body-on-frame, making it more durable than all the rest.
Another Toyota makes the list this week, the 2014 Highlander. Three different powertrains are offered in this Toyota family hauler including a 2.7L 4-cylinder, a 3.5L V6 and a hybrid. Pricing starts around $30,000 for a base Highlander.
High horsepower, rear-wheel drive; that is what the Chevy SS is all about. The new sports sedan from Chevrolet nabs the fourth spot on our list, and uses a 6.2L V8 that makes 415 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque.
Last this week is another high-horsepower Chevy, the Corvette Stingray Convertible. Under the hood lives a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 that makes 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The car can be had with either a six-speed automatic or a seven-speed manual transmission, all for a starting price of $56,995.
