The Toyota Camry is on track to retain its crown of America’s best-selling vehicle for the 12th year in a row, having sold 378,520 units so far in 2013.
Last month, the Japanese automaker sold 30,386 Camrys helping increase its lead on the Honda Accord to 44,163 units for the year. Unfortunately for Toyota, the gap is narrowing between the Camry and the Accord; this time last year, the Camry had outsold Honda’s popular sedan by 71,035 units.
Part of the sales surge came during the Thanksgiving weekend with Toyota stating that a quarter of its November sales occurred in the last four days of the month. For the month of November Toyota saw a 10-percent rise in sales compared to 2012.
Recently, Toyota admitted that the Camry will need some tweaks next year to stay on top of the competition.
