Rumor has it that we will finally see a Toyota Supra concept at next year’s Detroit Auto Show.
Over the past few years details, reports and rumors of a new Supra have surfaced and they may just turn out to be true. The Supra hasn’t been in the U.S. since 1998, but now inside sources are claiming that the Japanese automaker will surprise everyone with the Supra’s successor in concept form next year in Detroit.
Unfortunately Toyota would neither confirm nor deny the rumor, but don’t be surprised if the successor to the Supra sports a hybrid powertrain with around 400 hp to compete with the new Acura NSX.
The Supra’s successor is largely believed to be influenced by the FT-HS concept (above) that Toyota showed off in 2007 and likely would have seen production earlier had the Great Recession never happened.
