Toyota has announced a recall of model year 2013 and 2014 Tacoma pickup trucks due to faulty engine components that may cause the truck to stall while being driven.
The problem stems from valve springs that may break over time. If the springs break while the vehicle is on the move, the engine will stall, greatly increasing the risk of a crash.
The problematic valve springs are only installed on trucks built from July 1, 2013 to October 11, 2013. In total, about 3,800 vehicles are included in the recall.
Owners will be contacted by Toyota, and will have their valve springs replaced free of charge.
