The 2014 BMW 740Ld xDrive will is making its way to the American market, and it will make its U.S. debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.
The 7 Series is the latest model in BMW’s lineup to benefit from the German automaker’s advanced diesel technology and will be powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower turbo diesel engine with 255 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. The 740Ld will be based on the long-wheelbase 7 Series body and will include xDrive all-wheel drive as standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Fuel economy figures for the 740Ld xDrive have not yet been announced, but the German automaker expects it to be 25 to 30 percent better compared to its standard gasoline counterparts.
The car will arrive U.S. showrooms this spring carrying a price tag of $83,425 including destination.
