With a new BMW X5 now on the market and a major update due for the Mercedes-Benz ML, Porsche is preparing some updates for the Cayenne to keep it competitive, some of which can be seen in this latest set of spy photos.
Only small revisions are due for the Cayenne when it comes to styling including a slightly changed bumper, side-mirror incorporated turn signals as well as revised headlights, as seen in the photos. Rear-end looks are being adopted from the Macan, including 3D-style taillights and a new rear bumper. New wheel designs will also be available.

While updated engines are expected, the big powertrain news is the addition of a plug-in hybrid version of the SUV, adopted from the recently released Panamera E-Hybrid. In that car, the electric motor is paired to a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 to produce a combined 416 hp and 435 lb-ft of torque.
Porsche is expected to reveal the new Cayenne sometime in late 2014, with the SUV hitting dealerships in 2015.
