Buick Sets All-Time Global Sales Record in 2013

Riding on strong demand in China, Buick broke its global sales record for the first time since 1984.

General Motors’ pseudo luxury brand sits between Chevrolet and Cadillac and is one of four remaining brands after the Detroit giant became partially owned by the U.S. government. Globally, the brand sold 1.03 million vehicles last year and over 78 percent of that went to China. The brand reported a 15.7 percent sales increase in its biggest market. Sales in the U.S. grew by almost 14 percent.

Buick’s Encore small crossover was one of the biggest sales surprises last year. Even at the point when it was first being launched, the company wasn’t sure where it would fit into the market, but sales took off to sell over 97,300 worldwide. Roughly a third of those sold in the U.S.

FYI, you have a typo in your pricing information: the Acura RLX with Advance package is $60,450, not $69,450.

What?  It is Best in CLASS EPA?  BMW 3 Series is not in the same class. WOW…. I want to say really negative stuff, but you are the worst critic.  Just stick to reviewing your BMW.

Obviously you don’t know your cars and driving dynamics.  Front wheel drive cars have Oversteer issue, not Understeer.

  • guest

Okay, i’m wrong on that.  You’re correct on the steering behavior.

I really wish people who write/do these things would do their homework. The RDX, on the market now for quite some months, is in fact the first Acura with Variable Cyclinder Management.

what? front drive understeers. read drive oversteers.

Acura All the way!  I also like the unique design, along with the Jewel Lighting!  Lets see what car will last the longest in the end!!!  We all know you will never seen an Acura on side of the road with the hood up!  I live in Dallas, TX, and I have seen quite a few newer beamers and mercedes on side of the tollway, but never an Acura!  Acura for life!!!!!
