Contrary to rumors and reports Ford CEO Alan Mulally will not be leaving the American automaker to take over as Microsoft CEO.
Mulally will remain at Ford until at least the end of this year, ending months of speculation that Mulally would depart for Microsoft. The CEO noted in an interview that he wanted to “end the Microsoft speculation,” stating that he had “no other plans to do anything than serve Ford.”
Mulally was one of the candidates to take over at Microsoft as Steve Ballmer steps down as CEO. Mulally joined the American automaker in 2006 and is the third-longest serving CEO at Ford, behind Henry Ford and Henry Ford II.
